Adolescent Health
The New River Health Association's Adolescent Health Initiative supports community collaborative efforts designed to develop the assests youth need to thrive and become successful. The Initiative is designed to introduce, develop, train, and provide needed technical assistance regarding the 40 Development Assests developed by the Search Institute to youth, parents, teachers, health care professionals, other regional networks, and civic groups, with focused attention on improving adolescent health indicators. The Adolescent Health Coordinator provides a wealth of development approach. The Adolescent Health Coordinator provides a wealth of information, offers asset presentations, facilitates community-building asset surveys. These efforts are manifested in many ways, from developing collaborations around youth issues, to assisting with grants, to providing training about asset development or parenting or parenting issues, to facilitating a work day for a particular project. Specific youth outcomes are always addressed in some way in these efforts, providing a health prevention focus.
